XRP wallet creation spiked even as prices stayed under pressure, though exchange withdrawals may explain part of the growth. Price and activity remain key signals.

XRP Ledger Adds 7,934 Wallets in a Day as Traders Watch $1.30

Bullish For XRP; Arrington Capital Submits SEC Filing for XRP Hedge Fund

XRP’s latest burst of wallet creation points to heightened activity on the XRP Ledger, but it doesn’t show by itself that new buyers are entering the market. Santiment counted 7,934 new wallets on Sunday, November 1, the network’s sixth-largest daily increase of 2026. The weekend timing stands out because activity often eases on Saturdays and Sundays, making the tally notable without making its cause clear.

That distinction matters. A wallet is an address, not a person, and creating one doesn’t necessarily mean someone has bought XRP or plans to use the network regularly. The count offers a useful signal of activity, but its meaning depends on what people are doing with those addresses and whether the increase lasts.

Wallet growth may reflect a shift to self-custody

Santiment pointed to a possible catalyst: the October 29 Binance security incident. The attack reportedly involved $6.3 billion in stolen assets, including 233 million XRP valued at about $296 million. The FBI attributed the breach to North Korean hackers known as TraderTraitor. Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, rejected the accusation, calling Washington’s findings a “grave political provocation,” Yonhap reported.

The reported scale of the incident gives holders a reason to reconsider where they keep their tokens. After a major exchange breach, some may move assets to personal wallets so they control the private keys themselves. That’s a plausible explanation for at least part of the increase, though the figures provided don’t establish how many users made that move or whether the incident drove Sunday’s activity.

Wallet counts alone can’t distinguish a first-time participant from an existing holder shifting funds off an exchange. Nor do they show whether the wallets received XRP, how much they hold, or whether their owners will return. The count is an early clue, not a verdict.

Price and activity need to confirm each other

Price action offers a more cautious read. Santiment said XRP was hovering around $1.25, with $1.30 as the level that could indicate improving bullish momentum. It sees a more constructive setup if the token moves above $1.30 while daily wallet growth stays above roughly 4,000. This is more significant than the raw wallet tally alone: the combination would suggest that network activity and market demand are moving in the same direction.

That said, a threshold is a way to frame conditions, not proof that a trend has changed. A rise above $1.30 paired with continued wallet creation would strengthen Santiment’s interpretation, while either signal on its own would leave more room for doubt. If you’re tracking XRP, watch whether the two measures persist together rather than treating one busy day as confirmation.

The opposite combination would weaken that interpretation: a drop below $1.20 alongside fewer than 3,000 new wallets a day would point to cooling market momentum and network growth. At press time, XRP stood at $1.27, up 1.9% on the day, according to CoinGecko. That snapshot places the token between Santiment’s cited levels, so it doesn’t settle which direction the market will take.

What the wallet spike can and can’t tell us

For now, the wallet spike is best read as evidence of increased address activity, with its cause still uncertain. Similar bursts can reflect changes in how existing holders manage assets as well as new participation, which is why address creation alone can’t establish adoption. A more useful picture would come from seeing whether the daily increase continues and whether it coincides with the price conditions Santiment identified.

And yet, a single elevated reading can still matter as a prompt to pay attention. It flags a change worth checking against the next days of activity and price behavior, rather than supplying a ready-made bullish case. The open question is whether wallet creation remains elevated as XRP tests $1.30.

For holders, the distinction is practical: increased self-custody could mean people are changing where they store XRP, while sustained growth alongside firmer prices could point to broader engagement. The available figures don’t tell us which explanation is winning. More addresses. More questions.
